This may have been the most dreary, temperamental week I have experienced in Iceland yet. I think we saw the sun once, for a hour on Thursday. Monday I woke up feeling slightly sickly, though did not think much of it until later in the day. It was a rough walk to class with the wind trying its absolute hardest to blow us over, paired with some pretty fierce rain. That night I had class, in which we received our first exams back, my first grade I've received since being here. I thought I failed, which soured my mood for the rest of the night, though I found out later I did much better than failing, luckily. When I returned home, my housemates informed me that my eye looked "horrible", finally realizing that I had acquired pink eye. Good start to the week, huh? Tuesday night Sierra's mother (Canadian housemate) who is visiting for a few days, took Laura and I out with them for sushi! I tried a different roll than the first time, a Philadelphia Roll, though I cannot remember what exactly was in it now. What a lovely pick-me-up that was, and good to meet a portion of Sierra's family. Thursday it not only rained, but hailed and snowed as well. By this time the pink eye was beginning to clear up, thanks to Sierra's home remedy of dropping a honey and saltwater mixture into my eye every hour. I would probably be a lot worse off here without her living next to me. Thursday night I completed a group project, yet one more thing to check off the long list of tasks to accomplish before April. Friday night Laura and I, once again, accompanied Sierra and her family on their nightly adventure. This time, we tagged along to the largest swimming pool in Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug. It is heated by geothermal energy and has quite impressive facilities. From what I saw in the dark, without any eyesight aid, there was one large regular swimming pool, one large hot tub, and one flashy water slide. After much persuading to part myself from the warm water of the pool, Sierra and Laura convinced me to go down the waterside, and yes, it was a blast even though we were over the age of 10. Saturday, Laura and I ventured out into the wind and snow to try a new little bakery called Litli Bóndabærinn. We each bought two of the homemade rolls made by the owner himself. Mine were stuffed with veggies, and the other with lamb and sweet potatoes. Though we expected good things coming from an Icelandic bakery, we were pleasantly surprised at just how tasty these little treats were, and filling. The veggie one tasted like a flaky, crispy pastry filled with Thanksgiving stuffing. My mouth is watering for one now as I describe it. The rest of the day we hunkered ourselves down and gathered information for the group project we have due on Monday. Today, we again worked on our project, along with being in awe at the ever changing weather. Sitting under Laura's open window, I have been hailed on, snowed on, rained on, and the sun has shone on me once or twice as well. I do not understand this country.

Much rain
Sun?
So good, a dinner for two.
A beautiful way to end a rainy week.
