Imagine walking on a path that is sheer ice. Add to that winds so strong you have to actually lean in to them to stay on your feet. Now imagine that in darkness. Welcome to my first walk to school! It was an adventure to say the least, yet breathtaking as Iceland tends to be. The weather here is much warmer than the country in which I come from, go figure, though I have never experienced such relentless wind. Over the last few days we have done a bit of adventuring, from finding the University to buying an Icelandic sweater! Did I mention I am loving the home I live in more and more every day? It is a ten minute walk to the school and a beautiful walk at that, a five minute walk to downtown Reykjavik, and I couldn't have asked for better people to live with. There are three girls on the top floor with me, two on the second floor with the bathroom and kitchen, two girls in an apartment and a boy in a single on the first floor, and one girl in the basement. Everyone is very friendly, up for adventure, and just as confused about the school's website as I am. I have not officially registered for courses yet, though I plan on taking about three business/marketing classes, a course on volcanoes called Volcanology, and a course on Icelandic culture and nature. I went to my first Volcanology class today to find we get to take a trip to some of Iceland's very own volcanoes! And, as the teacher stated "If one of our volcanoes shows activity we will go see it, of course". Of course we want to get as close to the erupting volcano as possible. I am still pretty jet lagged and food is ridiculously expensive, correction, everything is ridiculously expensive, though besides that I am settling in pretty nicely. Here is the best part...pictures!

Here is my room as I sit on the bed.
My wonderful house on a hill.
The walk to school.. yeah, see that path?
Yay, we found it! Now to remember that map...
The school from a distance.
Janina, a friend who I cannot recall the name of, Katharina, and Edurne.
The country in which I now live.
My new sweater!
